Siris Anish

Siris Anish studies Philosophy at Leiden University and is also a singer-songwriter. Inspired by artists like Jeff Buckley, Tamino, and Kevin Garrett, he moves effortlessly between deep, warm tones and crystal-clear falsetto. His songs vary greatly in color and atmosphere; for each track, he searches for the voice and emotion that best carry the story. With his pure and layered lyrics, he knows exactly how to strike the right chord.

In the writing process, Siris works closely multi-instrumentalist Johann Leibrandt and Max Becht. Together, they search for the right tone, the right moment, the sound that allows a song to breathe. Step by step, a musical landscape emerges in which vulnerability, intensity, and warmth come together.

The Nectar Effect

The Leiden-based indie rock band The Nectar Effect is a sweet blend of reverberating guitars and synths, with lyrics that explore the highs and lows of personal growth. Musically, they draw inspiration from The Haunted Youth, Fontaines D.C., and Hiqpy, while their lyrics are shaped by life as a creative being. Let yourself be carried away by subtle psychedelic sounds and catchy, hard, shoegaze-tinged edges that will definitely get you moving!

Their single “Dying Again” was the runner-up for Best Leiden Song of the Year in 2024, and with a refreshed sound and a debut EP released this past September, the band promises plenty more to come in the future!

Steal the Moon

Steal the Moon is a Leiden-based indie rock band formed by four (former) Astronomy students. Inspired by the likes of Radiohead, Nothing But Thieves, John Mayer, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, they aim to tell a musical story through dynamics, building toward climaxes, and emotionally sensitive, vulnerable lyrics. At the same time, the bass and drums keep a steady groove for those who’d rather not focus on the lyrics and just want to dance. The guitar work ranges from campfire-style chords to more reverberant, dreamy, and immersive textures. The vocals adapt accordingly, with powerful belts finding their place as well. Let yourself be carried away by the music, expect both swaying phone lights from side to side and full-on energy in the mosh pit.
