From march onwards our show schedule will be a busy one! To kick things off we'll head back to Resistor in Leiden on the 7th of march with:
Gutter Carrion (UK)
James Shearman is a Noise Being. Born/based in London (UK) and responsible for various experimental recording aliases. Most recently, ‘Gutter Carrion’ obsessively explores walls of sound with ‘only feedback as source’ - only ever utilising vocal microphones, amplified resonant objects and no-input mixer forms of feedbacking in conjunction with audio fx - the project has slowly evolved to centre around the shifts and changes of feedback that are ‘naturally’ occurring in a space with as little ‘interference’ from the performer as possible.
Yellow Wasabi (FR)
Yellow Wasabi, evolutionary biologist and new media artist in Paris. She combines sciences and arts to investigate the human position in the digital industry and ecological landscape. She uses computer programs and biological modules to innovate and with the Guzheng, traditional Chinese harp; she shapes sound through AI motion capture and interactive projections.
Informelle (FR)
Informelle is a study of harsh sound – its organicity, interaction with the environment, structure, or lack thereof – and amplified found objects – metal, bubblewap, chestnuts, water. The project builds upon a set of interests and obsessions : contact microphones, fuzz effects, saturated pop songs, the interaction between noise and non-noise sounds, concentrated harsh textures, crunch, larsen. Informelle has a reductionist approach to harsh noise, minimising equipment to bring forward the sound sources.
N.E.R.F.
N.E.R.F is a collaborative project of longtime comrades Peter Zincken and Johnny van de Koolwijk. They use vintage field recordings and intertwine them with fragments of improvised live recordings, analog synths, loops & vocals.
