July 14th, Resistor recorded live footage for their promotional DVD. The band played a 6 track live set at Studio 16 in Hilversum, The Netherlands. The song 'Trigger' is already available to be seen on YouTube and Vimeo.

Early in the afternoon we all arrived at the venue, not knowing what the outcome of this shoot was gonna be, but hyped as hell! We knew we would have to play at least 3 live sets, a rehearsal and 2 shoots , and we would have to do it without an audience. Yeah, this was just us 3, your friendly neighborhood Rezzers, and a handfull of camera operators and sound technicians.  Now Wietze and I are well known and experienced actors. Having played world renowned roles as… ourselves in a rock band doing a live performance, in the Dutch feature film "Doodeind" (Dead End). But even then we had like a 20 man crowd cheering us on. So this would definitely be a new experience for us.

I gotta say everything was top notch. We had the 'light bulb mirror' backstage room, a buffet dinner in-between rehearsals and the videoshoot.

The works. And did I say rehearsals? Yes, I think we played the live set about 5 times. Coz believe me, this day was all about work and getting a good result. From the moment we came in the crew were hard at work getting the stage and lights set up. And the sound guys had their work cut out with all of Dick's equipment on stage and the sounds blasting through the outputs.  So we sound checked, they adjusted some lights, we rehearsed the set, then rehearsed it again with the camera crew. They taped a couple of songs so we could watch the playback. Make some adjustments with the sound and the camera movements and then… we ate. Haha. Yeah us rock star need to do what we gotta do.

But seriously now… After this it was showtime. We got our gear on, got our groove on and we rocked that stage. We were so locked in that we accidently played Thundementalisme twice in the first set… It was a good set, but we knew we could step it up a bit. The director shot the first set in a blue-ish industrial kinda light setting and the next one was gonna have a more orange, underground kinda feel to it. And for this final set everybody went all out. The camera crew was awesome. I mean these guys really had to focus on not bouncing around like we did. There was so much energy in the room.  It was like we played for a 20.000 man crowd.  If ya wanna see it, check the Trigger video on the site.

In the end the whole day flew by. I took half a day to tape 2 30plus minutes of live footage, and it took about 40 minutes for the crew to break it all down. Pack everything, help get our gear in the van, give us the footage on DVD and give a hardy handshake…  And that was it. A job well done.

I would like to thank the Studio, The Crew, The Director everyone who made this possible. It was an awesome experience and I gotta say the footage Rave n Rockz!

So keep an eye on the site for more live footage from Resistor and hopefully we'll see ya soon in a venue near you!
